Punarjanis 150 years old Traditional Ayurvedic Treatment for Fatty Liver

Fatty liver, also known as hepatic steatosis, is a common condition where fat builds up in the liver, impairing its vital functions. It can be categorized into two types: alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFLD), caused by excessive alcohol consumption, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which arises from factors like poor diet, obesity, and metabolic disorders. If left untreated, fatty liver can lead to more severe conditions such as liver inflammation, fibrosis, or even cirrhosis.

Punarjanis 150 years old Traditional Ayurvedic Treatment, offers a holistic approach in treating fatty liver by focusing on balancing the body’s doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) and rejuvenating the liver using herbal remedies, detoxification therapies, and lifestyle modifications. Let’s explore how Punarjanis addresses this condition and provides long-lasting solutions.

Understanding Fatty Liver in Ayurveda

In Ayurvedic terms, fatty liver disease is linked to an imbalance in the body’s metabolic fire, or Agni. The liver, known as Yakrit, is a critical organ responsible for detoxifying the blood, metabolizing fats, and maintaining overall health. When Agni becomes weak due to poor dietary habits, a sedentary lifestyle, or emotional stress, it leads to the accumulation of toxins (Ama) in the body. This, in turn, aggravates the Kapha dosha, causing excessive fat deposition in the liver tissues.

Ayurveda aims to strengthen the digestive fire, eliminate toxins, and restore balance in the doshas to heal the liver and prevent further damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

According to Ayurveda, the liver is composed of five bhutagnis (digestive fires) that correspond to the five elements – earth, fire, water, air and space. Each of these bhutagnis specialise in digesting a particular element in the food and transforming its Rasa Dhatu (chyle) to Raktha Dhatu (blood tissue). If this digestive fire is not proper, then the Rasa Dhatu will not be properly converted into Raktha Dhatu (blood tissue), and toxins will enter the blood.

The excess toxins stored in the liver may initially show symptoms like hypercholesterolemia, hypoglycemia, constipation, digestive problems, or fatigue. If the imbalance continues for a long duration, serious diseases of the liver like hepatitis, cirrhosis and cancer may develop.

Alcoholism causes scar tissue to develop in the healthy liver tissues, causing Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. This prevents blood from flowing through the liver and prevents it from functioning properly.

Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) also called hepatic steatosis is a manifestation of overconsumption of carbohydrates like processed grains and simple sugars. This compels the body to produce excess insulin, which leads to fat deposition in the liver. Histological features of NAFLD range from Grade1 fatty liver to Grade 3 fatty liver, progressive fibrosis and liver failure.

An ultrasound or MRI of the liver and blood tests are done to check for cirrhosis. In some cases biopsy is required to know the level of scarring.

In a patient with diseased liver, the blood test will show some of the following:

  • High levels of certain liver enzymes
  • Increased bilirubin
  • Low levels of proteins
  • Abnormal blood count
  • Infection with a virus

Punarjani’s YAKNA is a medicine formulated for the liver and is extracted from 16 Ayurvedic herbs. It is not a weak food supplement, but a highly potent medicine capable of reversing the severity and grade of liver cirrhosis. Exercises and diet correction are also advised
